| Ok, Heres the story. I have been posting about problems since my recent (4/04) rebuild from Z1. It started smoking blue smoke and I could hear a rattling sound from in the engine after the break in period was over and I started boosting about 15psi. I thought that the 600's were the cause because it was smoking on only the passenger side. I removed the turbo and noticed that it was covered in oil, replaced it with a new one and the smoke was still there but not as bad. So I decided to put the stock cats back on. That stopped the smoking problem. Good, right? Wrong! I drove the car like that for a day, no smoke but the rattling was still there. So I drove it yesterday for about an hour and all of a sudden the rattling got really bad, I had to boost in every gear to keep the car moving even at low RPMs. Then all of a sudden BANG!! The engine shut down, coolent sprays all over the window and the car. And the smoke starts pouring out of the engine bay. I manage to pull into a parking lot pop the hood and noticed that the radiator had blown up. The whole pass. side end tank was cracked into pieces. What would cause that? Temp was fine during the ride? I manged to tow it home(1mile) by removing the bumper and hooking a chain to the bumper support. Once I got it home I tried to turn it over and nothing, it's seized. I'm going to cut all acc. belts and try to turn it over by hand to see if I can break it free. But I think it's hopeless. Now heres what really gets me. I only have 2000 miles on the car since Z1 rebuilt the engine. I changed the oil 7 times since the install. The warrentee is up because it was only for 30 days. I will be making a phone call to Z1 monday because this is bull shit. This is just STRANGE, DRIZCOL who had the same exact rebuild done( Z1 long block, sport 600's, etc) in febuary. I read a post he left in technical and he had the exact same problems, blue smoke at a stop, etc... The last email I got from him was that his radiator blew up just like mine did yesterday, What the HELL is going on!!! Is Z1 building shitty motors and getting a way with it?? or is it just coincidence? Finally I'm going to attempt to sell it with a siezed motor and save me the time and trouble of removing all the parts(see classy). If not I will be parting it out in a few weeks so save your money. I REALLY am going to miss the Z scene and the people that came along with it, Regardz Rob
